Sehenswert in Kombi mit anderen Ausflügen
Schönes Erlebnis. Man bekommt eine Einführung in das Leben des Schmetterling (von Kokon bis Tod). Dann läuft man durch eine Gehege mit vielen bunten Schmetterlingen und anschließen kann man noch ein Chamäleon sehen und auf die Hand bekommen. Der Ausflug dauert ca 1 -1/2h und kann gut mit dem Jozani Forest (Affen) und oder dem Village Paje verbunden werden (Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, schöner Strand, viele Restaurants)

Interesting place to visit.
I like the idea and story behind this project. It´s not big but you´ll see and learn a lot thanks to our nice guide. Special bonus are the chameleons!

Photographic delight!
If you love nature photography, you will have a lot of fun here! The admission price is very reasonable, the variety of species is great, and you might even be offered to hold a chameleon at the end of your visit!

good experience
we were as a group of 10 there one week ago.They open 8:30. The entrance fee is 12 K TNS ( this amount is going to the village community as a donation) . We have got a briefing after arrival about the history of the foundation of the center and the life of the butterflies and then we could see amazing number of butterflies in the netted area which is quite large up to 300 m2 and 5-7m high. There were several chameleons , too in a limited area. All of us really enjoyed the visit which lasted cc 40-45 minutes.

Well worth a visit
This was one of our favourite trips during our stay in Zanzibar. It's quite a small community run project but well worth a visit. Probably allow an hour and a half. So well run and informative we saw some beautiful butterflies and amazing chameleons.The best part is it is not busy atall.

Lovely place
We spent a lovely hour or so at the butterfly centre. We were welcomed and given a short talk followed by a look around the boxes of newly hatched butterflies. I appreciated how our guide didn’t rush us and let us enjoy the butterflies by ourselves but was there if we had any questions. He then took us to see the chameleons that they had taken from the butterfly enclosure and kept in an outdoor section. My children loved trying to find them and handling them. Recommend this place just to spend time being surrounded by butterflies but overall experience was great.

Unsinn und Zwecklos
Völlig sinnlos. Kein Grund den mittlerweile 13$ Eintritt zu bezahlen. Einem wird etwas erzählt über die Entstehung der Schmetterlinge was am in Wiki auf jeden Fall finden kann. Dann geht man in einem Gehege um 10 Schmetterlinge beim Fliegen zu sehen die völlig unbeindrückend sind. Weil man wahrscheinlich bereits bewusst ist, dass hier eher eine Charade ist, werden falsch zwei winzige Chamäleon als Highlight gezeigt. Fazit: Voll zwecklos.

Beauty in nature
The centre has a nostalgic feel especially when you think of butterflies and the beauty they add in nature..we were looking forward to a step back in nature and experiencing this in their natural environment..the host was knowledgeable especially in explaining the life cycle and showing us around but unfortunately the centre has a neglected look. The place is abit run down and even the butterfly sighting wasn't as expected which was disappointing as the uniqueness of it would have made the experience worth the entrance fee paid. The place has potential and most people would identify with the magical feeling of being in nature surrounded by the beautiful butterflies.

Visite et explications sur les papillons de Zanzibar. La serre est assez petite et se visite rapidement. Les papillons sont magnifiques. 5 caméléons. On a surtout l’impression de participer à un projet de préservation (les habitants rapportant les cocons sont rémunérés).

Perfection.
While I am not a big butterfly enthusiast, the Butterfly Centre blew my mind away. My bestfriend and I had an exceptional time watching the beautiful butterflies and learning about their entirety. The guides were gracious enough to teach us about the life cycles and metamorphosis. Butterfly Centre is near the huge Jozani Forest where you can take a stroll enjoying the amazing. Tours
During the guided tours of about 30 to 40 minutes, the visitor learns everything about the life stages of a butterfly, sees many exhibits flying around and learns to understand the importance of the conservation of the tropical forest.
The admission fees directly support the training of the farmers, micro-loans for setting up their business as well as investing in alternative wood logging such as the fast-growing tree of casuarina. The Centre also funded several water tanks, wells and cooperates with several not-for-profit organizations in the region.
The surrounding area also offers a range of attractions, including cultural and historical landmarks and nature reserves, for visitors to enjoy. We highly recommend a visit to the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre for a unique and educational experience on the island.
